The BP Lower 48 project included the design and construction of a sleek and sophisticated corporate headquarters space for BP, including approximately 143,134 rentable square feet on floors 1, 3, 4, and 5 of a new office building located at 1700 Platte Street in Denver, CO. BP has relocated more than 200 employees from Houston, Texas to this new flagship building. The high-end finishes and extensive audio/visual and security systems consist of a 60-foot media wall, a 53-foot live-edge unity table, marble and Teknion demountable office systems, and biometric readers for executive suites. The project is targeting LEED certification.
The Project One Cumming team is working as part of a larger group of internal and external stakeholders. Our responsibilities include successfully developing positive and mutually beneficial working relationships; providing ongoing management of design, construction, and other third-party team members; working with the project team to develop information for discussion and recommendations to the client; and elevating issues and suggesting options for resolution on items requiring client input. We are also providing ongoing review, critique, and summary for the client of cost estimates, schedules, and value engineering/cost management options, as well as constructability analysis and reviews of design documents, specifications, and permit submittals. Our role, as a trusted advisor to the client, requires an objective analysis for project schedules and budgets, while providing proactive foresight regarding decision-making, team selection, budget tracking, and firm-but-fair oversight during the negotiation and administration of contracts.
Project One Cumming is currently providing project management services on the new second-floor build-out in the same building for BP.
